Expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UNESCO.

DUSHANBE, February 4, Asia-Plus - Issues related to expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UNESCO have been discussed during a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Nigina Sharopova with Representative of the UNSECO for Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Ms. Anjum Haque. Ms Anjum Haque arrived in Dushanbe on a working visit yesterday.


As Asia-Plus was told at Tajikistan's National Commission for UNESCO in the course of the talks the sides discussed issues of implementation of the UNESCO projects in Tajikistan. It was noted that these projects implemented in the fields of education, science and culture were giving new impulse to expansion of practical relations between Tajikistan and the UNESCO. During her three-day visit to Dushanbe Ms. Haque is scheduled to hold talks with senior representatives from the Tajik Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Culture as well as representatives from international organizations present in the republic. In the course of the talks the sides are supposed to discuss ways of further cooperation, prospects of expansion of joint participation in programs implemented by the UNSECO in Tajikistan, issues of supporting scientific and cultural institutions as well as drafting and implementing new projects intended to preserve cultural heritage, historical and cultural relics in Tajikistan.
