 | It is an honour for me to send this message on the occasion of the 2010 international conference on Semipalatinsk. In commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Decree that led to the closing of the Polygon, we remember the suffering and loss of life caused by over forty years of nuclear testing, but also honour all those citizens who joined forces to raise global awareness about the danger of nuclear threats through a democratic campaign to make the world free of nuclear weapons. |
