UNESCO Participates in Launch of New UNDAF for Kazakhstan

  Representatives of key line ministries, government committees and members of UN agencies gathered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Astana, 27 January to launch the new United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2010-2015.



Community Radio Social Catalyst for Development of Rural Kyrgyzstan

  Central Asia's first conference on community radio was held 20 - 21 January in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The purpose of the conference was to highlight the role of community media in promoting social development.



UNESCO Director-General to launch the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures

  UNESCO’s Director-General, Irina Bokova, has set up a High Panel on Peace and Dialogue among Cultures to provide guidance on how to build increased tolerance, reconciliation and balance within societies and throughout the world.
